Unified communications (UC) reseller and contact centre specialist Datapoint has recruited former Easynet professional services head Matt Taylor to "inject much-needed momentum into the development of [its] professional and managed services portfolio".
Taking up the role of group services director, Taylor will oversee the development of Datapoint's go-to-market strategy around contact centre and comms services, as well as further development of its contact centre management platform, Katalyst COREcentre.
Taylor talked up the importance of managed services options in a still-sluggish economy, saying: "As growth remains stagnant, wise business leaders are scaling back significant investment and making their existing assets sweat more. Datapoint's managed services teams will focus on helping organisations make the most from their contact centre and communication assets."
Added Datapoint CEO Jim Kent: "The last 12 months have seen Datapoint's market offer transformed with the Katalyst solution [and] with unified communications set to triple by 2015, this is a real coup for Datapoint."
