Software AG looks for channel to drive vertical expansion

Business process management (BPM) specialist Software AG has revealed plans to put more focus on the UK and to recruit partners with vertical expertise.

The software player with a strong reputation in the business process and operation transformation arena has traditionally sold direct to large enterprises but with the COO Darren Roos now based in the UK he is promising to recruit more partners.

Roos said up to now it had worked with around a dozen partners here but none of them were traditional resellers instead fitting the ISV description and it was looking for more of those types of channel players to broaden its reach.

"A partner that deals with us it is important that they add value because it is not just about technical features we are after specifically vertical or horizontal exposure," he said.

He added that those partners that developed their own intellectual property around the Software AG products would find a great deal of support from the vendor.
