Casio hires former Maverick staffer to drive channel sales

Casio has appointed a former Maverick staffer Oli Davies to drive its channel sales of its projectors across Southern England.

Davies, who as well as a spell at Maverick also has some time at Sanyo on his CV, will be tasked in his role as business development manager with working with existing resellers selling its lased and LED hybrid light source projectors, as well as recruiting more.

Phil Clark, head of Casio projection, said that the appointment showed that it was continuing to show its commitment to the AV channel.

He added that there were indications that the demand for its product set would rise and those resellers on board would find a growing market awaiting them.

"All signs point to a significant acceleration in sales of hybrid light source products in the near future, and Casio plans to continue to lead in this area," added Clark.

Davies said that his immediate ambition was to work with channel partners: "new and existing resellers and our distribution partners to facilitate a joined-up approach to closing business".
