Alvea adds DNS functionality to cloud portfolio

The Alvea cloud platform continues to expand its services for resellers with a DNS managed service being added to the list of functions it can provide the channel.

The cloud-based domain name system ensures that customers will not lose website traffic due to DNS failure and provides resellers with an alternative to pitch against on-premise solutions.

"As organisations become more reliant on Internet transactions for business-critical functions, managing DNS is a key element of website security and resilience. It may not be a particularly glamorous aspect of IT, but it is vital for business continuity," said Kathryn Miller, service delivery manager at Alvea Services.

"Moving DNS management to the cloud also provides organisations with a scalable solution which means resellers can continue to support clients' DNS needs, even as their requirements change," she added.

In addition to adding functionality to the cloud services portfolio Alvea has also hired extra staff to help get resellers up and running with hosted technology sales.

Neil Gardner has joined as services proposition manager to help develop new cloud and managed services. Sales manager, Jason Phillips and sales specialist, Jon McFaddon, have also been appointed to help resellers understand ALVEA Services as part of their business continuity, IT and networking security solutions.
