Comstor plants flag in Cisco, NetApp FlexPod environment

Alex Scroxton

Cisco-specialist Comstor has revealed it is to sell Cisco and NetApp's FlexPod datacentre architecture in EMEA after being handed distribution rights to the converged networking, server and storage solution.

The distie, part of Datatec's Westcon outfit, said it would be able to use its "unmatched level of expertise" on Cisco products to help resellers deliver custom FlesPor-powered solutions. It will naturally be offering the usual VAD reseller support perks as well.

Comstor worldwide president Jon Pritchard described the FlexPod architecture as "game changing" for the channel.

"[It] helps customers lay the foundation on which new, dynamic cloud computing infrastructures can be built," he said. "For more than two decades Comstor has worked with Cisco - and is now delighted to be working with NetApp - helping customers uncover new revenue opportunities associated with emerging datacentres.

"Today, we're offering an additional means for new and existing partners to dramatically grow their business," he added.

NetApp's EMEA channels, system integrators and alliances vice president Thomas Ehrlich said: "Working with Comstor, we can benefit from their market-leading expertise in next-generation datacentre technologies, giving partners all the tools necessary to help customers fully leverage the power of the cloud."

Earlier in the month Cisco and NetApp revealed a number of EMEA integrators, including ANS, Dimension Data and Logicalis, had been designated as FlexPod Premium Partners.
