Trustmarque uncovers Scottish NHS bonanza

Alex Scroxton

Trustmarque has scored a lucrative £20m contract to provide software and services to the Scottish health service under a new NHS National Services Scotland (NHS NSS) framework.

The infrastructure and software VAR will provide expertise in intelligent software procurement and cost avoidance strategies across the Scottish NHS, helping the various Boards "consolidate and maximise core technologies where appropriate" as well as offering a full SAM service.

The framework also supports different board requests for service variation, since they will be able to buy centrally or locally, depending on individual requirements.

This new contract will enable Trustmarque to extend our reach and help support all the NHS Boards

NSS business advisory group head Mark Salveta said the new framework, which consolidates all the software purchases of 22 separate Boards, will make the entire process far more efficient.

"In recent times we have managed the NHS software framework and delivered a number of programmes into individual Boards, [but] this new contract will enable Trustmarque to extend our reach and help support all the NHS Boards," said Trustmarque regional sales director for Scotland, Mark Garrity.

"The competition was fierce but I believe our understanding of the specific needs of NHS organisations, coupled with our proven track record ... were pivotal factors in our success," he added.
