Fujitsu boosts channel team with new appointment

Fujitsu has hired a former HDS executive to develop reseller relationships and help drive its channel growth

Fujitsu Has appointed David Kennedy, former regional sales director at Hitachi Data Systems as its new enterprise sales manager.

As part of Fujitsu’s bid to build its UK Channel support, Kennedy will be responsible for building relationships and driving sales with resellers focused on the corporate public sector and commercial markets.

“I’m delighted David is joining our team. He brings a wealth of market and industry knowledge and extremely strong sales leadership to Fujitsu,” said Simon Worsfold, channel and enterprise sales director for the Fujitsu Technology Product Group.

 “With these qualities, I’m absolutely confident that he will be able to help our reseller partners in the corporate market take their partnership with us and their Fujitsu sales, to the next level,” he added.

Since the start of the year, Fujitsu has added 20 new staff to its channel-focused team in the UK, which now has a headcount of 60.

The company has grown its sales significantly. Recent figures from IDC show Fujitsu’s overall share of the UK market up by 158.4% year-on-year, with its desktop sales up 53.8% and its portable sales up 453.9%.

Kennedy has 25 years’ experience in sales roles and before joining HDS worked at Affiniti, BT and Computacenter.
