Calyx lifts lid on managed UC service

Calyx Managed Services has enhanced its existing unified communications (UC) solution to incorporate Microsoft Lync.

The new UC services combine messaging, presence, document sharing and conference functionality and can be fully integrated with Calyx's existing telephony or with any IP system.

"Increasingly businesses are recognising that UC is more than just a ‘phone system," said Martin Mackay, chief executive Calyx Managed Services. "In fact, it can transform a business, enabling far greater flexibility in mobile working, improved collaboration and better productivity, while also significantly reducing travel costs and overheads."

The solution can be partly or fully virtualised, supported 24/7 and managed as one service and a single service level agreement enabling any businesses to enjoy the benefits UC can deliver, without the complexity and overhead of dealing with multiple service providers.

In a recent Calyx survey over half of respondents cited UC as the single technology innovation that would contribute most to their business’s agility. However, lack of clarity over installation costs, difficulty in implementation and lack of a single provider for supply and integration were all barriers to adoption.

“We believe our new solution and services offers a simple, secure path to these benefits, removing the worry and complexity previously associated with UC delivery,” concluded Mackay.
