McAfee has launched a managed service provider programme for resellers to take advantage of one of the fast growing sides of the service delivery.
The security vendor will provide partners with tools,training and resources to build a managed services operation with the options to be either handled on-site or via the cloud.
The vendor has been offering managed services for several years but has pulled its knowledge and resources under one banner in an effort to encourage more resellers to make the move to offering customers the flexibility of monthly payment options.
"We are seeing tremendous growth in the managed service market fueled by customer demand for reduced IT complexity and lower cost," said Gavin Struthers, senior vice president of worldwide channels at McAfee.
He said that the MSP programme would be consistent globally and for customers provided endpoint protection as well as server, networks and virtualised environments.
The managed service programme is an extenstion to the Security Alliance Partner programme that resellers will already be familiar with.
