Computer 2000 has deepened its commitment to the public sector side of its business after appointing a specialist bid and pricing manager.

The distributor has made the public sector one of its key markets this year with Cathi Low heading its efforts to prove that the market has not been wiped out by the government's focus on reducing the deficit.

Carmel Keightley takes up the role of public sector bids and pricing manager with a CV that includes spells supporting the public sector at both reseller and vendor businesses.

her role will be to co-ordinate special bids and pricing for deals to public sector customers and supporting both those resellers that have already established a business in that area as well as fresh faces looking to make money out of the market.

"Special bids and pricing and an important element of almost every significant deal in this market and by having a dedicated resource with real expertise, we'll be able to give resellers even more help in developing their business with education, healthcare and local government," said Low, director of public sector at C2000.
