Northamber is to distribute Wasp's range of bar code scanners, printers, software and accessories from today.
The Chessingston-based distributors has parted company with Lexmark, 3Com and Lenovo this summer after announcing that it would put a higher level of focus on "supportive vendors".
Ian Joslin, former-general manager at Kyocera who has joined Northamber as head of printing said there were sales opportunities for resellers in the e-Pos market.
"We particularly needed an out-of-the-box Auto ID product that would suit small-to-medium businesses," he said, adding Wasp technology could fit well with IBM or Microsoft technologies.
Discussions with Northamber had been taking place over the last year said Wasp UK sales director Hugh Furness.
"We are very cautious about signing new distributors because we could just be moving from one distributor to another," he said, "[the deal] will bring Wasp products to a whole new segment of customers."
