Simon Quicke

The government has set out a series of measures to produce further reductions in carbon emissions and to encourage investment in green as part of the Budget.

The chancellor Alistair Darling outlined measures to earmark £405m for supporting green manufacturing and plans to reduce UK carbon emissions by 34% by 2020.

Darling said that it needed to plan for the future and had to ensure that the UK was delivering on its green commitments.
