Trustmarque outlines services push and Scottish commitment

Trustmarque will grow its services business, which could include an acquisition, appoint someone to run its Scottish business as part of its plans to reinvigorate the business under the leadership of recently appointed CEO Scott Haddow.

Haddow took the reigns at Trustmarque a few weeks ago after interim CEO Ken Hills, who had been appointed by Lloyds Development Capital, stepped aside after the search for a replacement for Ross Millar was concluded.

Haddow has spent the last six weeks investigating the business and come to several conclusions about its short and long-term goals.

In the short-term the reseller is on the brink of appointing a senior Scottish business figure to run its operations North of the Border and grow the share of its revenue above the 15% the country currently delivers.

There is also going to be a greater emphasis on matching resources to what is delivered with low profit producing vendor and customer relationships being reviewed.

"The thing we need to change is that I don't think we are organised to optimise customer relationships," he added "We are working with too many partners and vendors."

In the long-term the services side of the business needs to be beefed up and Haddow said that it would consider an acquisition but had not yet even started down the road.

He added that he believed the commitment to Scotland would pay off as it was now one of the last remaining LARs that had a dedicated manager running operations.
