SaaS set for year of growth

The year ahead is being seen as a decisive one for those offering Software as a Service and hosted business process offerings.

The technology should come of age and reach more customers according to analyst house TechMarketView, which is predicting a dynamic time in the SaaS market in 2013.

The analyst house expects new products, partnerships and financial models to be offered to customers next year driven by more takeup of the cloud.

But there is a warning that those suppliers that have not yet got their propositions sorted could find themselves left behind.

With business process as a service and business process services becoming more popular the competition is increasing.

"Global giants and new suppliers alike are emerging offering BPaaS and platform-based BPS to capitalise on this nascent opportunity. Established UK BPS players could find themselves out-manoeuvred," stated TechMarketView analyst John O'Brien in an update to subscribers to the analyst's news service.
