Managed services and network specialist Phoenix IT Group has appointed for new heads to beef up its services capability.

John Adair joins as service excellence director having held a variety of senior management roles in field engineering, outsourcing and IT service delivery and systems integration over a long career. He will take charge of Phoenix’s Service Excellence Programme, the firm’s blueprint for optimising service delivery, productivity and competitiveness, and customer retention.

Richard Lawrence meanwhile joins the Operations team to run the Distributed Services and Network Services capability units. He comes to the firm from IBM where he was in charge of public, telco and media sectors services.

Former Alcatel-Lucent services bigwig Tom McMurdo has been taken on to fill the role of director of Hosting and Server operations.

Finally, Andrew Gibson will move from an internal Operations role to take charge of solution design and pre-sales at Phoenix’s Systems Integration unit.

Peter Holland, Phoenix’s Group Operations Director, said, “In such a competitive market we know that Phoenix’s size, its history and its expertise alone are not the guarantors of success, which is why we have always placed enormous emphasis on service delivery and the customer experience.

“With Richard, Tom and John, Phoenix has brought in three highly experienced team members who will be integral to continuing our record of delivering the best possible experience for our customers and partners.

“Meanwhile, we thank Andrew for his hard work on the Operations side of the business, and congratulate him on his new role – he will be instrumental in the continued success of Phoenix’s Systems Integration business,” he added.
