CompTIA names new channel leadership team

Industry association CompTIA has named seven new members to its UK Channel Community leadership team, established when it bought out the Technology Channels Association (TCA) in 2011.

The community was set up to provide a platform for resellers, distributors and vendors to collaborate on various aspects of their business practices, including education, best practice and so on.

To continue its work it has now added Computer 2000 marketing director Andy Dow to represent the distribution community, and Pensar IT Management MD Mark Williams and Ostrich IT Services technical director Matt Barton to represent resellers.

Meanwhile, IT vendor members will be represented by channel veterans Ian Moyse and Les Billing, of and netPrefect.

Overseeing the community will be Vital Technology Group MD Lee Evans, who joins as chair, and Jim Harrower, UK and Jim Harrower, UK and Ireland sales manager at GFI Software.

CompTIA president and CEO Todd Thibodeaux said that the UK Channel Community had been extremely active and engaged in addressing the business issues affecting channel firms since its inception.

“We fully expect the group’s new leadership to continue with this important work in 2013,” he said.

High on the community’s agenda in 2013 will be the promotion of its recently announced IT Business Trustmark, an accreditation designed to give end users more confidence in selecting their suppliers.
