Following its February acquisition of Lancashire-based Besttel, the firm is set on driving more take-up of its range of network-centric unified communications, video conferencing and audio visual solutions to corporate, education and public sector clients.
Haining – who has spent the past six months since leaving Intrinsic at Cisco reseller development consultancy Channel Intellect – has a strong heritage in the networking sector, having previously run key public sector accounts for Cisco.
Avsnet said it planned to lever his proven Cisco expertise and solid understanding of converged networks to capitalise on the growth it has been experiencing recently.
“This is an exciting step for both myself and avsnet. With its focus on customer service and equally impressive understanding of UC technology and how it transforms businesses, avsnet is the perfect company for me to join,” said Haining.
“I’m looking forward to helping the company achieve even more success moving forward,” he added.
Avsnet MD Graham Fry said: “Billy… has an exceptional technological understanding, but what is even more impressive is the ways he gets to the heart of businesses to provide the exact solutions they need to transform themselves.”
