Acer Sweden boss Andresen heading for Blighty

PC-maker Acer has named Marco Andresen, currently country manager at Acer Sweden, to the post of general manager of the UK, effective from 1 November 2013.

The reshuffle comes as current incumbent Neil Marshall is promoted to the role of regional manager for Northern Europe, a position he will take up in the New Year.

Andresen, who also serves as marketing director for the Nordic region, has held numerous business development and marketing positions at European consumer electronics retailer Media Markt, as well as HP and IBM.

“The UK is a critically important market for us and one of the most competitive. I look forward to relocating to the UK to embark on the next chapter of my career at Acer and to also continue the change management programme that Neil and the local management team have put in place over the past two years,” said Marco Andresen.

“Marco has a solid reputation for building and leading successful teams and for forging great relationships with our customers and partners.  We are really confident that he will be successful in applying his experience and commercial acumen in his new role in the UK,” added Marshall.

Both Andresen and Marshall will co-act in their current and new roles for the next couple of months to ensure a smooth transition, Acer added.
