Cook gets group CEO role at Getronics

Alex Scroxton

Getronics UK and Ireland CEO and group MD Mark Cook has been promoted to the role of group CEO at the private equity-backed services provider.

Cook came to Getronics three years ago after a stint at services provider Steria, and during his tenure in charge of Getronics’ UK has helped steer the company through a number of significant milestones following a torrid few years, not least its January 2012 sale to German industrial holding and investment company Aurelius.

More recently, the revitalised firm has begun to flex its muscles in the marketplace again, recently acquiring NEC Enterprise Solutions’ UK direct sales and services business to improve its unified comms offering.

In his new role, Cook will take on additional responsibility for building on Getronics’ existing workspace heritage but with an eye to improving its more bespoke IT services offering, accounting for cloud, mobility and so on.

Cook commented: “Business behaviour is changing rapidly and with it so are the expectations of IT.  Companies are demanding agile services such as cloud and unified communications, wanting reassurance that an IT expert is managing issues around security and compliance on their behalf.

“The success of the company has been built on our ability to adapt to these evolving conditions by creating an innovative portfolio that helps customers quickly address challenges through custom IT and business-centric consultancy.”
