Insight Enterprises has named Wolfgang Ebermann as its new president of EMEA, effective from 6 January 2014.

Ebermann joins from Microsoft, where we held the role of VP and COO of Central and Eastern Europe, responsible for sales, marketing and services across 20 countries.

He previously worked as EMEA VP of small, midmarket and partners at Microsoft, and also spent a spell at HP’s Peripherals Group as European software marketing manager. A strategic specialist, he holds a degree in business administration, majoring in international marketing and human resources.

Ebermann replaces Stuart Fenton, who announced his resignation back in April following an 11 year stint on the bridge, but has remained on board to oversee the appointment of his successor.

Ken Lamneck, Insight president and CEO, praised Ebermann’s “established history of driving operational excellence and delivering growth in the midmarket and enterprise space across a multi-country footprint”.

“Wolfgang’s leadership style and experience will undoubtedly help define and grow our EMEA business’ competitive position in 2014 and beyond,” he added.

Insight’s third quarter results are due to be released on 30 October following close of play in the US.
