Outsourcery gains G-Cloud 4 supplier status

Cloud provider Outsourcery has bagged approved supplier status in the government’s G-Cloud 4 (G4) framework, a programme committed to the adoption of cloud computing for the public sector.

G4 is the government’s fourth iteration of cloud procurement.  The potentially lucrative win for Outsourcery follows a surge in interest from public sector organisations considering cloud-based services.

Outsourcery is planning to provide a range of services that include enterprise voice-enabled Unified Lync, SharePoint, Exchange and CRM, via the G-Cloud’s CloudStore online catalogue.

The company is hoping that inclusion as supplier will help it learn about the IT needs of the public sector to inform the development of its offerings.

Piers Linney, Co-CEO at Outsourcery, said that since the company was first accepted onto the G-Cloud framework, it has seen a “huge increase” in the number of public sector organisations looking to embrace cloud services.

The government previously came under fire for its cloud procurement process with particular criticism levelled at a lack of clarity for instructions and submission information.
