Fortinet appoints new regional VP to drive growth in UK, northwest Europe

Alex Scroxton

High-performance networking security vendor Fortinet has named Andy Travers, previously VP of sales for the UK, Ireland and South Africa at F5 Networks, as its new regional vice president for northwest Europe.

Charged with spearheading Fortinet’s growth and expansion across northern European markets – which for Fortinet means the UK, Ireland, Nordics, Germany and Netherlands – Travers will take charge of pushing some aggressive sales and business developments for the firm.

“As Fortinet is pursuing its goal of becoming the global leader in network security, it is critical for me to rely on a team of strong regional sales executives, who have the experience and proven success,” said Patrice Perche, vice president of international sales & support for Fortinet.

“To that end, I’m delighted to have Andy on board. He has all of the right credentials to help us market our industry leading technology and address the major security issues faced by organisational IT departments. I am confident Andy will help us achieve the growth targets we have set ourselves for 2014 and beyond.”

Travers added, “I’m very excited to be joining Fortinet, which I consider to be one of the most innovative global network security vendors on the market. I’m convinced that Fortinet is on a strong success path and has a lot of potential to benefit from large industry markets like the UK or Germany.

“My role is to build on this success through both regional expansion, enterprise focus and channel development.”
