Datacentre provider boosts London capacity

Datacentre operator Infinity SDC is partnering with Zayo Group, a bandwidth infrastructure provider, to gain high-capacity connectivity for a new datacentre in Slough.

The partnership builds on an existing deal between the two in which Zayo provides connectivity to Infinity SDC’s Romford data entre.

The installation consists of IP, wavelength and dark fibre connectivity options. High-bandwidth connections will also be provided between Slough and Romford.

The move has been driven by an increasing need for scalable connectivity options for key markets such as financial exchanges and other major datacentres.

Paul Quinn, account director, Infinity SDC said: “The flexibility, capacity and international reach that Zayo offers, coupled with its expertise in rapid deployment, will offer significant benefits for our clients.”

The Slough datacentre was brought online in early November 2013 and has 92,000 sq ft capacity supported by 34MVA of power. The high bandwidth link between Slough and Romford and other routes into The City and Docklands is intended to provide Infinity SDC clients with the capacity to deploy increasing numbers of applications.

Zayo has an extensive pedigree as a bandwidth infrastructure provider and provides a number of services in the US as well as the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands.
