Tech Data and Fujitsu aim to drive workstation sales

Distributor Tech Data UK has extended its partnership with Fujitsu by making the vendor’s CELSIUS workstations available to value-added resellers and systems integrators.

The move aims to exploit opportunities in the workstation market for computers that can meet high performance requirements and reliability needs. CELSIUS workstations are typically used for high-end design, engineering, data analysis and graphical applications.  

Fujitsu has seen 40% year-on-year growth in its first-half channel 2013 CELSIUS sales and is looking to further build its presence in the workstation market over the coming year.

Leigh Schvartz, product manager, professional workstations, Fujitsu UK & Ireland said: “Users in professional and specialist organisations seek out platforms more suited to their needs than today’s largely homogenised desktops. We’ve been working hard to engage with partners on workstation opportunities and support them in every possible way.

To drive sales Fujitsu is offering training and what it claims are attractive margins and rebates. Other offerings include deal registration support for resellers that sign-up as CELSIUS partners. 

CELSIUS specifications can be tailored to suit customer needs and they can also be tuned for high-performance computing (HPC) environments.

James Reed, director of systems and software at Tech Data, said: “There are good opportunities in the workstation market, where users want computing platforms that are ideally-suited to their requirements....”

Tech Data already stocks Fujitsu models including the LIFEBOOK series of notebooks and Ultrabooks, ESPRIMO desktops and STYLISTIC tablets.
