Hosted desktop cloud computing specialist Nasstar has bolstered its managed services abilities after slashing out £13m for Denara Holdings, which owns the MSP e-know.net.
The deal is a mixture of £9m in cash and £4m in shares and will combine the hosted desktop solution developed by Nasstar with the sales and delivery ability of e-know.net as the combined firm looks for fresh customers.
The expectation from the board is that the enlarged group will be able to grow organically and ride the wave of increased interest in the hosted desktop and managed applications market.
Lord Peter Daresbury, chairman of Nasstar, said that it viewed the acquisition as a strong platform to exploit the expanding but fragmented hosted desktop market: "The acquisition of e-know.net is a significant milestone for Nasstar, bringing strong cost, revenue and operational benefits."
In response, David Redwood, chairman of e-know.net, said that it would now have the chance to take a stronger offering out to customers and expected more growth opportunities to result from the tie-up.
