Kcom expands Cisco Powered virtual datacentre services offering

Alex Scroxton

MSP Kcom has added a third Cisco Powered Services Designtation within Cisco’s Cloud and Managed Master Service Provider Certification, recognising its capabilities around Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) deployments.

The firm already has certifications around Hosted Collaboration Services, Hosted Collaboration for Contact Centre, Managed Business Communications and Managed Unified Contact Centre.

Kcom head of hosting, propositions and products, said the designation recognised the company’s “commitment to developing and delivering cloud-based solutions using Cisco technology”.

“Following a rigorous assessment of our platform, Cisco has validated our virtual datacentre (VDC) service. The approval from Cisco differentiates our services in the market and reassures our customers that we’re a credible partner to work with,” he said

“Using a VDC allows businesses to be more agile, responsive and gives them the scalability they need to manage critical workloads and keep their IT up to date. We believe that our breadth of services, including VDC, will help us build our business, and our customers’ businesses.”

Cisco has made much of its Cisco Powered services in recent months and plans to put the portfolio front and centre this year for its partners.

Richard Roberts, Cisco UK and Ireland partner lead, told MicroScope that the contribution made by Cisco Powered services to its overall UK bookings was now “outpacing the traditional resale business.”
