Becrypt teams up with Motion Computing

Simon Quicke

Mobile security specialist Becrypt continues to seal partnerships as it looks to widen its reach this year with a relationship with Motion Computing its latest move to help develop secure rugged tablets for specific vertical markets.

The two vendors will work together to deliver a tablet PC to the police and emergency services markets that provides durability with security for those customers combining expertise in hardware and high levels of data protection.

Just the other week Becrypt signed up its first US distributor Synnex, which is also a channel partner of Motion Computing, and it will be pushing the products on the other side of the Atlantic.

The two vendors have worked together for several years but will now deliver the Motion F5te and J3600 rugged tablets to the UK markets and further afield using Becrypt's DISK Protect software.

“As tablet adoption continues to grow in tough, mobile and increasingly security-conscious industry sectors, we are delighted to bring this joint offering with Motion to market through the channel. Organisations operating remotely and often in difficult or harsh environments need software that can protect their confidential and sensitive data and drive productivity and performance," said Dr Bernard Parsons, CEO at Becrypt.

In response, Ian Davies, country manager, Northern Europe at Motion Computing, said that offering the latest hardware was not enough and there had to be something extra for specific verticals.

“The police and emergency services all require carefully tailored solutions that offer the highest levels of mobility and security.  Our agreement with Becrypt will strengthen our portfolio," he said.
