Avnet, EMC speed time to deployment on VNXe, Data Domain kit

Avnet Technology Solutions joins EMC in SME initiative to promote VNXe storage and Data Domain backup and remove barriers to its deployment in the channel

Avnet Technology Solutions has extended its EMC SME storage and backup programme, Altitude, into the UK for partners specialising in its VNXe storage solutions and Data Domain backup product.

The online programme enables resellers to configure pricing arrangements for customers without contacting either the distributor or vendor. Available all day, every day, the duo say the configurator will save partners valuable time while preparing quotes

Participating resellers will receive training on both the use of the portal and the product available through it, as well as sales collateral and data sheets, among other things.

EMC channel director Terry Beale said eliminating delays through the programme made “sound business sense” for the channel.

“Avnet has already demonstrated its ability to act quickly and efficiently by setting up this programme, and we look forward to working together to maximise this market opportunity over the coming months,” he said.

Avnet EMC business manager Lee Bushnell added: “We believe the next 12 months will see a high level of growth in terms of companies leveraging existing network technology and adding storage functionality to their datacentre environments.

“The new Altitude portal will give Avnet business partners a distinct advantage in terms of speed of response to such opportunities.”

Enables IT sales director Nigel Tatlock backed up the claims: “In the SME market things can move pretty quickly.

“By going online we will be able to give our customers on-the-spot proposals to help them make informed purchasing decisions quickly, smoothing the way to an efficient sales and delivery process.”
