Andy Gass returns to lead Tech Data UK

Alex Scroxton

Former Computer 2000 managing director Andy Gass is returning to the UK to become managing director of the UK and Ireland at the recently-renamed Tech Data UK.

Gass has spent the past couple of years as senior vice president of South and West Europe after stepping down from the UK MD role in January 2012.

His replacement at C2000 and current incumbent, Peter Hubbard, will become managing director of Tech Data Mobile UK and Ireland in a game of boardroom musical chairs that will also see current unit boss Stephen Nolan slip back into his old role managing European mobile vendor relations.

“I am pleased to be leading our operations in the UK and Ireland at this important time for the business,” said Gass.

“It is vital that we draw on the experience and expertise we have within our organisation to ensure that all parts of our business maintain their progression and growth.

“Peter Hubbard’s appointment as MD, Tech Data Mobile UK and Ireland will help ensure that we have strong leadership in place for this important and strategic business. I would like to thank Peter for his leadership of our UK and Ireland business during the past two years,” he added.

Gass will continue to sit on Tech Data’s European Executive Board, reporting to Nestor Cano.
