Mimecast heralds first 100 certified partners

Simon Quicke

Minecast has hit the milestone of getting 100 resellers certified as technical specialists so they can position themselves as trusted partners able to help users make a move towards the cloud.

The vendor, which specialises in cloud-based email archiving, security and continuity services around Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 has been encouraging resellers to get involved with its online training portal to widen the base of partners that can help customers take steps towards the cloud.

In order for a reseller to get certified technical specialist status the partner has to have a minimum of four technical consultants on board who have gone through the training programme.

“We have found many Mimecast customers want to benefit from cloud services but don’t have the skills in-house to manage the migration. We have worked with our channel partners to build this certification training so that they can manage cloud projects for our customers, reducing any barriers to migration," said Nessa Lynchehaun, channel director at Mimecast.

She added that the reason why so many resellers, a quarter of its UK base of 400, had signed up since the scheme was announced in May last year was because of the attraction of getting cloud skills and, "a certification brand that gives customers confidence".
