Less than a month after it took the wraps off an managed service programme for reseller partners McAfee has reported strong interest from channel partners looking to enhance that side of their business.
With most of the channel looking to grow their managed services options the security vendor launched the MSP programme last month offering its appliances on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Spencer Starkey, UK & Ireland regional channel director at McAfee, said that it had found interest from partners looking to grow managed services as well as providing more options to those that remained selling just a few parts of the vendor's portfolio.
Starkey said one of the aims of this year was to increase communication with partners and encourage more to take a wider range of products, quoting research that indicated those selling three products saw revenue increases in the order of eight times magnitude.
"Some partners are very skilled in current areas and some have chosen to stay strong in a particular area but there is lots of unfinished work to do in the channel," he said.
"There is lots of communication with the channel, and at grass roots, with us hitting the road this week to talk about networking security explaining what we can offer following the acquisition of StoneSoft," he added.
