Ingram Micro has imported its VentureTech Network from the US where it has been encouraging resellers to team up to for the last 15 years to give themselves a chance of sharing best practice and teaming up for larger deals.

The distributor has will hold the first meeting of the network in the UK later this month in Surrey with executives from the US including the North American vice president of market Jennifer Anaya and John Fago, the senior director of North America channel marketing and account management.

Mark Williams, client services director of Wavex, will take the role as the first council president and will also have a position on the North America advisory council. Along with his firm Lan2Lan and Symitry are also the other partners founding the UK community.

Ingram Micro’s managing director and vice president for UK and Ireland Brent McCarty said that he had participated in the US scheme and was keen to see it deployed across the Atlantic.

“With VTN, you get out what you put in and I look forward to seeing VTN become the premier partner community in the UK, as it is in North America,” he said.
