Sage products made available through Tech Data Activate-here service

Tech Data has added Sage’s SME accounting and payroll products to its online software distribution service, TD Activate-here, growing the number of solutions available to the channel through the portal.

The addition of Sage’s Instant and 50 payroll and accounting products to the distie’s portal means that resellers and retailers alike will be able to order product for immediate download and activation by the customer, eliminating any need to order product in advance, or stock physical copies.

Tech Data director of software and systems, James Reed, said the addition of Sage would hopefully encourage more partners to beat a path to its door.

“We are seeing more customers use TD Activate-here on a frequent basis and with Sage added to an already strong portfolio of leading software brands we expect even more resellers and retailers to make use of the system on a regular basis,” he said.

“By making it much easier for them to offer a wide range of leading products and reducing their cost of sale, TD Activate-here is encouraging more resellers and retailers to offer and attach software at the point of sale. It is undoubtedly helping them to increase their software sales and their profitability.”

Mark Buckingham, UK sales manager for retail and distribution at Sage, added: “Tech Data leads the way in ESD and the availability of Sage via TD Activate-here presents retailers and SMB resellers with a superb opportunity to offer more choice and services to their customers, and thus maximise the potential to drive their sales of Sage’s best-selling accounts and payroll solutions.”

Other vendors available through the Activate-here service, which launched in 2011, include Adobe, F-Secure, McAfee, Microsoft and Symantec. Tech Data claims to have over 2,500 resellers using the service on a regular basis across Europe.
