Channel expertise to drive Acronis acquisition strategy

Data protection company Acronis, is set to embark on an extensive acquisition and growth strategy to drive the adoption of its AnyData Engine and achieve an ambitious billion dollar revenue goal.

The move is signaled following the appointment of Yury Larichev, former CEO of cloud ERP vendor Acumatica, who has joined Acronis as President and is tasked with driving the company’s aggressive growth goals. 

The growth strategy is also been given added weight as Ezequiel Steiner, current GM of Acronis’ mobility business unit, is also charged with focusing on strategic partnerships and identifying potential acquisitions and the legal process associated with them. 

Larichev has extensive channel pedigree and with Acumatica he nailed 350% year-on-year sales growth in 2013 streamlining activities around products and the partner channel.

He also served in multiple positions at Microsoft, where he was in charge of SME and channel sales in Microsoft Russia. He has also led the worldwide SME sales and marketing team at Microsoft corporate HQ.

Steiner was previously CEO of Acumatica, where he implemented an indirect channel strategy through hundreds of VARs and OEM partners.

Prior to this he headed up business development and acquisition for Parallels, a virtualisation and automation vendor, where he helped grow the company through several acquisitions and OEM agreements.

The Acronis AnyData engine delivers data protection for specific workloads. It provides backup, disaster recovery and secure access, and is designed to ensure security for files, applications and systems across virtual, physical, cloud and mobile environments.
