Dropbox offers expanded partner programme to UK resellers

Hosted storage specialist Dropbox has extended its channel programme beyond the US to meet reseller demand

Hosted storage player Dropbox has announced plans to widen its partner programme internationally after almost a year of running a scheme in the US in response to calls from resellers.

The firm launched its Dropbox Partner Network last June initially just offering it to resellers in the US that wanted to sell its business product offering and it managed to get 750 signed up in just 11 months.

But since then the vendor has come under pressure to offer the same programme to international partners and it will now be making it available to resellers in the UK and Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Those signing up will have access to the vendor's partner portal, which will help them manage teams on the client's behalf and download resources designed to make selling the technology easier.

The vendor also has established a European HQ in Dublin, as well as an operation in Australia as it expands outside the US, to support its UK and European resellers as well as offering partner account managers.

In a blog post Adam Nelson, head of channel partnerships at Dropbox, said that resellers had been driving the demand for an international expansion to the partner programme: "We got an incredible number of requests from solutions providers all over the world, asking to be able to bring Dropbox for Business to their clients."
