Box doubles European reseller numbers

Simon Quicke

Cloud content sharing specialist Box has revealed it has doubled its European partner network in the last year, taking the numbers above one hundred, as it looks to work with an increasing number of channel partners.

The firm now has 130 partners across Europe, including system integrators, service providers and what it describes as the 'channel network', with some familiar names on board, including Bytes Softcat and Insight in the UK.

“The rise of cloud, mobile technologies is having a profound effect on how companies structure and manage information,” said Wayne Cook, vice president of channel and alliances, EMEA at Box.

“This shift requires new strategies and a new mindset, which our partners across Europe are embracing with Box. We’ve sought out relationships with leading companies who share our vision, and have built a robust, far-reaching partner ecosystem in the process," he added.

Box specialises in file synching and hosting and has been given the nod by some of the largest analyst houses as a leader in that market and has 25m worldwide users taking advantage of its technology.

Anne Cave-Penney, head of alliances at Capgemini, said that how staff shared information was an issue that extended well beyond the CIO and was an issue that more businesses were concerned about.

“Enterprise file sharing and collaboration between internal and external users is becoming a front and center issue for all CIOs and IT departments," she added that it was working with Box to provide secure access to data.

"We are able to file level security and access control to enterprise collaboration across a number of hybrid cloud models to our customers, complementing our offerings in the Digital and Mobility space," she said.
