Flash storage player Violin Memory has expanded its channel management team bringing on board worldwide and EMEA chiefs at the same time it took the wraps off a global partner programme.

The firm has promoted Andrew Perry, who has been running the US channel since January last year, to the role of global vice president channel sales and has appointed former EMC staffer Christian Putz as EMEA channel chief.

In the UK Ashminder Ubhi will report into Putz as the firm ramps up the number of executives that have channel responsibility and the firm has also revealed a global partner programme will launch next month.

Under the programme resellers will be able to access benefits through deal registration and get MDF along with a range of technical and sales support and the option of using demo units and providing customers with an evaluation-to-purchase programme.

Last month, when talking about the firm's fiscal Q1 results, Kevin DeNuccio, president and CEO of Violin, said that it expected that it would benefit in the second half of the year from a "more efficient go-to-market model" and from the release of new products and more strategic relationships.
