TmaxSoft on the hunt for channel partners

South Korean database specialist TmaxSoft is kicking off a search for UK channel partners that want to pitch an alternative to Oracle to customers as it ramps up its activities outside of its home market.

The vendor arrived in force in the UK at the start of the year and is now keen to start developing relationships with resellers as it tries to gain market share and replicate the success it has enjoyed in Asia.

Last month the enterprise software player appointed James Mills as sales director charging him with growing its indirect channel base and he said the search was already underway.

"We have a channel programme and this is a channel business and we will be setting up a three-tier model," he added that it would be looking to have conversations with distributors sometime in the future.

"We are selling solutions that are already well established and it is an Oracle compatible database but it is more affordable and has a flexible licensing model," he added.

The firm is taking a quality not quantity approach to its recruitment but aims to get some solution providers on board that have an understanding of the database market.
