Microsoft CEO tells resellers they are central to future plans

Microsoft's CEO has told the channel it plays a pivotal role in making sure the vendor takes advantage of changes in the technology landscape, with users looking for more cloud and mobile solutions.

Ahead of his keynote at the vendor's worldwide partner conference tomorrow Microsoft boss Satya Nadella has written to all of the vendor's partners explaining where the vendor is heading and their role on the journey.

"The day I took on my new role I said that our industry does not respect tradition – it only respects innovation. I also said that in order to accelerate our innovation, we must rediscover our soul – our unique core," he wrote.

"Last week in my email to employees, I shared how as the productivity and platform company for the mobile-first, cloud-first world, Microsoft will reinvent productivity to empower every person and organization on the planet to do more and achieve more," he added.

He echoed some of the comments made by his fellow executives from day one of WPC yesterday describing the changes in the market as a massive opportunity for resellers.

"You play a central role in this effort," he informed all of the partners and he should have further thoughts to share when he takes to the stage tommorrow for his keynote.
