BT and Avaya sign deal to bring end-to-end cloud solution to channel

Avaya and BT have today announced a five-year deal which will see the two companies launch an end-to-end cloud platform to the channel.

Avaya Cloud Solutions will give businesses and public sector organisations unfettered access to Avaya Aura contact centre and UC product suite, which will be delivered via BT Wholesale’s managed Ethernet network. The service will only be available via Avaya accredited channel partners and to enterprises with 250 plus employees.

The initiative comes not long after Avaya made a commitment to fast-track its customers to the cloud and in keeping with the promise, will offer current clients a hybrid model with managed migration ensuring a smooth transition.

It is hoped that the clout of these two giants will allow channel partners to exploit economies of scale and offer an end-to-end solution without the need to create and fund solutions themselves.

James Hennah, director, Fixed Telecoms at BT Wholesale said: “There are currently no wholesale options which allow the UK channel to address mid-market and enterprise customers with an end to end service […] but with this agreement, channel partners can easily harness the combined strengths of BT Wholesale and Avaya without capital investment.

Joe Manuele, vice president of Global SP-SI, Alliances and Cloud at Avaya added: “New and existing customers can now access Unified Communications and Contact Centre Applications as a Service with BT Wholesale through our channel partners, safe in the knowledge that the flexibility, scalability and reliability that is synonymous with Avaya products is available in an even more affordable and manageable way.”
