Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

With the week coming to a close it's a chance to look back over the last few days and chart the personnel movements in the channel

It has been another week of movement of personnel in the channel with both distributors and vendors hiring and moving staff to make sure they are positioned to deliver growth

Tech Data

The distributor has appointed Helen Harwood as pricing and programme manager, with responsibility for keeping the company’s public sector pricing details up-to-date and available to resellers targeting the education, healthcare, local government, blue-light, NGO and other segments of the market.

Harwood has worked at Tech Data since 2011 as a project managare and has a CV that includes more than a decade working in both public sector and commercial business.

"Tech Data is very committed to driving public sector business for partners and it is vitally important that we keep our customers informed and up-to-date on the very latest offers and pricing, so that they can be certain they have the most competitive bid available," she said.

Netwrix

the IT auditing software specialist has seen its share of the enterprise market grow and as a result has moved to bring on more channel expertise to help recruit more partners with relationships among those buyers.

The firm has hired former Azlan staffer Savina Lamberti as channel account manager. Her CV includes time at the distributor as Cisco business development manager and a spell at VMware where she was partner account manager for premier and enterprise partner customers.

She said that the channel was looking to work with vendors that could provide high levels of support and her role was to make sure that was delivered.

Peter Smith, Netwrix regional sales manager for Europe, said that the plan was to replicate the appointments across Europe as it geared up for more channel growth.

Annodata

Document management player Annodata has ambitions to become a £100million business next year and has made some senior appointments to help fulfil that ambition.

The firm's former group sales director, Rod Tonna-Barthet, has been handed the newly-created position of CEO, and Geoff Slaughter has been appointed to the role of group sales director.

Tonna-Barthet has been with the firm since 2008 and has already helped revenues inctrease and he will be now charged with keeping the foot on the pedal and looking for more sustainable growth.

Former Canon staffer Slaughter will come on board tasked with using his experience of the industry to try and open up new markets for the firm.

Annodata’s founders and shareholders Andrew Harman and Tim Harman will be focusing their efforts on overseeing the corporate strategy, identifying acquisition targets and new growth opportunities.

The firm's chairman Martin St. Quinton said that the past financial year had already seen some major changes to the company, including the acquisition of Keltec, and now was the time to grow the business further.

“These changes have presented us with a significant opportunity to grow the business, but to do that in a way that is sustainable, it’s critical that we’ve got the right leadership and management team in place," he said.

Fujitsu

The vendor has a fresh name on the plaque on the CEO's door with Regina Moran who was previously in charge of the firm's efforts in Ireland for the last six years taking over from Michael Keegan, who only took on the role himself a year ago.

Keegan is moving to a European role looking after the product business and will also become chairman of the UK and Ireland operation and will work with Moran.

“I'm delighted to be taking over the reins in leading Fujitsu's UK & Ireland business. This is a fast-paced, continually evolving technological world with levels of connectivity beyond all comprehension.  At the same time, we are seeing innovations such as the Internet of Things and smart cities being no longer pipe dreams but achievable, near-term goals," said Moran.

“With the support of our UK & Ireland leadership team we can ensure that, as an organisation, we are able to understand the business challenges our customers face in making these technology innovations a reality and provide the services and solutions that help them do that,' she added.

xMatters

The business process firm has recruited George Biry as channel and alliances director EMEA to help the US firm expand its footprint.

Biry has a track record that has more than two decades working with the channel. He has previously worked at  Ping Identity, QLogic and McData Corp.  Most recently he was director of business development EMEA at Ping, where he built the firm's partner programme.

Teon Rosandic, vice president, EMEA, xMatters, commented on the appointment: "Our evolving channel strategy is important in helping us grow the company and expand our customer base even further across EMEA. We are delighted that George, with his vast industry experience and channel pedigree, is now on-board and already making this strategy a reality across the region."
