Amicus ITS plans for growth post MBO

Healthcare specialist Amicus ITS has completed an MBO and is planning to develop more managed services

Healthcare specialist Amicus ITS has completed a management buyout as it takes steps to increase its opportunities to bring more flexibility to the business and  develop its managed service proposition.

The Hampshire-based firm has been around for just shy of three decades and has been owned by parent company Care UK, building up a strong reputation in the health and enterprise sectors.

Even after the MBO Amicus will continue to work with Care UK and provide the managed services for the NHS Out of Hours/111 operation.

Steve Jackson, managing director of Amicus ITS, who led the senior management team behind the MBO, said that it was looking to grow the business.

The management team is pointing to its recent launch of a ‘Cloud First’ IT support service aimed at the SME market, providing secure backup as an example of the sort of developments it plans to come up with.

“We have a very clear vision about our plans for the company’s strategic growth and expansion over the next five years and beyond.  We are actively expanding our strong partner base across the UK and are already working with other like minded organisations who share our values and vision to deliver improvements in the IT and security environments for businesses nationally,” he said.

“Having expanded over the last five years, the company is going from strength to strength. This gives us the stability to underpin our future plans for strategic collaboration and growth. This MBO gives us even greater flexibility to design and bring to the market new and exciting IT managed services which truly meet and exceed our clients’ existing and future expectations,” he added.

For customers the MBO should not change a great deal and Jackson said that it was very much “business as usual”, which included continuing to support its existing users and working with Care UK.

“By understanding and aligning ourselves with our customer’s business strategies we aim to provide the best current and future support as their trusted partner in IT and new technologies,” he said.
