Pablo Suarez has joined Bell Micro as president of its Latin American
operations after turning his back on Ingram Micro.
He
had been due to become UK managing director at Ingram from July but as
revealed by MicroScope last
week, visa issues and a subsequent job offer which allowed him to
stay in Miami with his family proved too tempting.
At
Bell, Suarez will oversee all aspects of the business in Latin America
and report directly to Graeme Watt, president of worldwide distribution.
"Pablo is a key addition to the company as a whole,
particularly in our operations in Latin America," said Watt, "we will
rely upon his vast experience and knowledge in the IT distribution arena
to continue to expand Bell's presence in the region."
For the past 15 years, Suarez held a number of senior positions at Ingram which included heading up the business in Argentina and most recently as managing director of the Miami Export Group.
