McAfee boss talks of acquisition plans

McAfee is planning to make a handful of acquisitions every year to expand its portfolio and underpin its ambitions for the future.

In comments reported on Reuters made by Dave DeWalt, CEO of the security vendor, he revealed plans to acquire small and medium sized companies that will add to the vendor's technology capability.

Throughout the recession there has been consolidation in most sectors of the channel but the security market has held up with the valuations of companies in that space remaining more attractive than other areas.

DeWalt also told the wire service that his own company was not up for sale.
