Former Nortel enterprise solutions head Joel Hackney has been confirmed as Avaya's new senior vice president of global sales and marketing and president of field operations after Todd Abbott stepped down.
Hackney currently serves as head of the unified comms vendor's Data and Government Solutions units, and he will continue to lead up Avaya's US government business, with Data Solutions being handed off to colleague Steve Bandrowczak.
The firm has also promoted its chief restructuring officer Jim Chirico to executive vice president of business operations.
Commenting on the changes, which become effective in mid-June, CEO Kevin Kennedy said that the changes will "build on ... momentum" established within Avaya during recent months.
