Better trained employees

The Government has launched a new strategy to improve the skills of existing workers and new joiners to the workforce.

The document, Investing in Sustainable Growth, sets out the Government's plans to improve on what it's been claiming to have been improving for years.

The detail allows for 75000 more adult apprenticeships by 2015; fully funded training for those aged 19-14 to take a level 2 qualification (if they don't already have one); not cutting £210 million of adult or community learning; supporting new sector based professional standards; and a replacement of Train to Gain with an SME focused programme that revolves around the low skilled employee.
