Cisco tweaks partner accreditations in New Orleans

Changes to Cisco's channel are once again afoot at the vendor's annual Partner Summit...

During yesterday's keynote sessions, the vendor's global channel boss Edison Peres lifted the lid on a new cloud partner programme, but also slipped out some details of oncoming changes to partner accreditations.

Last year, Cisco said it would replace its technology specialisations with architecture specialisations, reflecting its own internal move towards network solutions styled around business architectures.

These accreditisations are due to become available in April, according to Edison Peres, at which time Network Noise understands Cisco Gold partners will have one to two years to transition from four technology specialisations to three architecture specialisations.

Peres has said that Cisco will offset 30% of the cost of getting certified for the first 500 partners through the door.
