Open sesame. Government to simplify ICT procurement

The Government is to ensure that small firms and organisations are no longer shut out of its procurement processes because of "excessive bureaucracy and petty regulation". Further, procurement opportunities will be available for everyone to see, free of charge.

How? Through the launch of a 'Contracts Finder' website, which will become the place to find public sector contracting opportunities worth over £10,000.

The idea is to make the Government's procurement process "totally transparent". All organisations need to do is to specify which contracts they are interested in and details will be emailed free of charge.

Happy hunting...
