Avaya, Panasonic and ShoreTel distie ScanSource is expanding its UK footprint into the north of England with the addition of a demo and training centre at its branch office in Hull, which 'til now had dealt with the firm's barcode contracts.
ScanSource has kitted out the facility with IP Office and Avaya Aura gear and plans to use it as a reseller demo centre to complement an identical facility located in the wilds of Surrey.
There's no doubt the UK IT industry is significantly skewed to the south; the majority of distributors established in the south east and along the M4 corridor.
Investment in every region of the country is of course to be welcomed.
But we wonder, was the end of Avaya's relationship with Manchester-based Nimans possibly on ScanSource's mind when they cooked up this plan?
