The expectation that the private sector will employ just shy of 100,000 new people in IT roles over the next four years is one that can be greeted with both smiles and frowns by the channel.
On the positive side it shows that the industry is growing and firms still recognise the need for more IT expertise.
But on the other hand the idea that the ranks of IT departments will be swelled with fresh talent, particularly according to Executive Headhunters, with senior roles, might indicate that there are soime users turning inwards.
There has been a movement towards managed services in the last few years but if firms are going to do more themselves then that raises some question marks about the amount of business that will go to third parties.
